Greetings! I’m Anne, and I like to make things and share them. Right now I’m focused mostly on drawing (and making stickers and prints and things out of those drawings). I also design knitting patterns, though tendonitis and carpel tunnel have made knitting less of an everyday activity for me recently.
AnneArchy was originally a nickname and I thought it made sense to use when I started my small business. It has my name, is sort of punny, and nods to my punk rock ethic.
Themes in my work include plants and nature, ideas about social justice, Boston Terriers, queer pride, and rainbows. I dream of a day when humanity isn’t stuck in the current capitalist, colonialist (and so forth) hellscape, when we all take good care of each other and no individual has much more power than anyone else. I'm striving to go about this business of sharing and selling my art with an attitude of abundance and celebration of making art, while still valuing my work in a way that feels right. AnneArchy is owned and operated solely by me, a queer woman.
Every month, I give a portion of my proceeds to people and causes fighting injustice and oppression. Right now a couple of my favorites are We Here and Detroit Hoodstead (not a complete list).
I live in Michigan with my spouse and our rescued Boston Terrier Maddy, and enjoy gardening, reading, sewing, and having a lot of hobbies.
