Nicola Day learned to sew as a child in England, then worked in a Nantucket sewing shop and made purses for boutiques before opening Hipstitch after settling in Newton, Massachusetts. Her teaching studios now give children and adults space to learn sewing and other crafts in Newton, Wellesley and Brookline.
