YY (as in why-why; they’re her initials) Liak is a Singaporean illustrator, designer, and author currently based in NYC, where she designs book covers for Grand Central Publishing. Before that, she studied illustration and art history at MICA.
She likes bold, punchy colours, graphic shapes, and lines that look a little wonky. Her dream project is to illustrate a cookbook even though she’s really bad at cooking. In her spare time she likes watching movies shot on film, listening to the same 3 songs on repeat, and making increasingly specific notes app lists.
