Victorinox was founded in 1884 and hasn't stopped evolving ever since.
Our origins begin with the founding of Karl Elsener's cutler's workshop in Ibach, Switzerland. In the years that followed, he continued to expand his business and develop his knives. His Swiss Army Knife™ went on to become a global icon of preparedness in everyday life and even in outer space.
Living up to our legacy as Makers of the Original Swiss Army Knife™, we’ve been making well-thought-out products with precision and care for more than 140 years.
Today, Victorinox operates worldwide across five product categories: Swiss Army Knife™ & Tools, Kitchen and Professional Knives, Watches, and Travel Gear. Here are the most important milestones in our company’s history.
