The Rustic House

Chattanooga, TNBrand · Candles

From the time she was a little girl, Emily was intrigued with how scent could trigger memories and evoke emotions. While completing her Entrepreneur Business Degree her interest for candle making and running a small business ignited. With those two passions, she convinced her best friend Chelsea to move to Chattanooga, Tennessee and together, they established The Rustic House in 2013. It all began with $500, a used wax machine, a bunch of recycled glass and a dream. Weekdays were spent testing candle formulations and scent combinations. The weekend meant it was time to tear down the work tables in 'production' (the garage), pack them and all the candles made that week into a '93 Honda Civic and reset the tables for selling at local farmers markets. It was the encouragement and love from loyal locals that got the pair through those first years. Together they created a perfectly scented soy candle. The company mantra to Follow Your Scentses, really is proof that dreams can come true. Our products are now available in every state in the U.S. as well as a dozen countries internationally. Made in small-batches with high-quality ingredients, it is still the love and encouragement of our loyal customers that powers our success. We are thankful every day for your support that allows us to live our dream.
