At The Type Set Co., we design modern magnetic letters, write-and-wipe boards, and other creative tools that spark curiosity and confidence in little learners. Every product blends thoughtful design with educational purpose, turning everyday play into meaningful learning moments. Because when design is smart and materials are intentional, kids (and grown-ups!) can’t help but fall in love with learning. The Mother of Re-Invention The Birth of Modern Magnetic Letters Like most great ideas, ours began with a spark—in the shower, of all places. When my son was little, we had an old-school magnetic letter set on our fridge. I loved the idea of it, but I couldn’t stand how it looked. The loud colors and clunky fonts didn’t fit our modern decor, and I knew there had to be a better way. As a designer, I couldn’t help but reimagine what these could be—beautiful, tactile, and thoughtfully crafted tools that children (and their parents) would actually love using and displaying. That vision became The Type Set Co., the first brand to give magnetic letters a modern, design-forward makeover. Founder, Creative, Author, Homeschool Mama Ashley Jankowski Hi, I’m Ashley—a lifelong creative, professional designer and photographer, homeschool mama, and now, children’s book author. Before founding The Type Set Co. in 2016, I ran a branding and packaging design firm for over a decade, helping companies tell their stories through thoughtful, strategic design. That experience shaped how I approach everything I create today. I’ve always believed design can make everyday life a little more beautiful and meaningful. That belief inspired me to combine my love of letters and color with smart, creative tools that spark confidence and curiosity in kids.
