The Daily Grace Co. story began with suffering and loss. Jeremy and Kristin Schmucker were eagerly awaiting the arrival of their second daughter when their world changed in an instant. Sophia Kate's heart stopped beating days before she was expected to be born. This season of grief and sorrow was hard and heavy, yet it was in this season that God planted in their hearts a dream to bring God glory through Sophia's short life. Joy in Christ Kristin loved the Word of God, and Jeremy encouraged her to use that love to encourage others in whatever season they were facing. The first study Kristin wrote was pulled directly from the pages of her journal from the days after they lost Sophia. Kristin didn't think many people would buy it and expected only a handful of orders from friends at church and her mom. After putting it on Etsy she was shocked to find that hundreds of people bought it within the first week. What happened next Kristin continued writing and creating products that she and Jeremy shipped from their small seminary apartment! Orders kept coming, so they kept shipping and praying! When they moved into their first homes, orders were shipped from their attic, and then their basement. The tiny dream in memory of Sophia just kept growing. Where we are today.
