TENDER CO. STORES
Brand · Clothing
Tender was founded in 2009 in London. Always working from home, the brand is now based in Pennsylvania, USA. Production up to 2025 was in England, and since 2025 is in America.
Tender has its roots in antique workwear and machinery, and has grown over the years to interrogate new ways of weaving, pattern-cutting, sewing and dyeing. Experiments are grounded in historical research but are open minded towards the future.
An important characteristic of Tender products is the nurture which is put into them: in their research, design, manufacture, and wear. Just as a gardener tends to a vegetable patch, or a shepherd is the tender to a flock of sheep, so we hope that Tender’s owners will live with their clothes, wearing them hard, but respecting their provenance and the stories they have to tell.
Clothes and accessories are manufactured in small factories, ateliers, and homes. The Tender Stores offers a selection from the current seasonal production, as well as dead stock, repeated runs of archival designs, and one-off prototypes. We also stock Working and other projects designed by or with William Kroll.
