Mill Wood Art started with a simple idea: make something real. Since 1988, our family has been working with wood out of Raleigh, North Carolina—building, experimenting, and figuring things out the hard way. It began with founder Rob Christian, who grew up with his hands on tools long before there was ever a brand name on a piece. In 2007, Rob made what would become the first piece in the collection as it exists today: reclaimed tobacco barn wood paired with a hand-designed lighthouse print. He walked it across the street to a local shop, and it sold on the spot. That moment told us what was possible. The rest has been following through. Today, Mill Wood Art is still family-owned and family-built. Our team of in-house artists designs every print, and every frame is made by hand in our Raleigh workshop from solid, rough-sawn wood—full of grain, knots, and character. No MDF. No shortcuts. Just real wood and real work. Nearly four decades in, our pieces now live in homes across all 50 states and beyond. The approach hasn't changed. Make it real. Keep it simple. Do it right. American-made. Small-batch. Handcrafted in Raleigh, NC. — The Mill Wood Art family
