I Never Planned to Start a Shoe Company.
I was just a mom who wanted better shoes for my own girls.
Somehow, that little problem became Little Love Bug.
Before Little Love Bug, I worked in corporate sales.
Then I traded quotas, meetings and deadlines for raising my
two daughters — the original “Little Love Bugs.”
Motherhood was wonderful, messy, exhausting and full of
unicorns, laundry, coffee and a truly unreasonable number
of toot jokes.
I also needed something that was mine.
So in 2017, during one of the hardest seasons of my family's life,
I started creating.
My dad was battling two forms of cancer, and Little Love Bug
became somewhere to put my energy, my creativity and a whole
lot of hope.
I began with one simple idea:
Make shoes that give little feet room to move —
without making parents choose between function and cute.
A mom. Two little girls. One idea.
I loved the freedom of soft-soled baby shoes, but I kept
running into the same problems: slippery bottoms, thin
materials and shoes that couldn't keep up with real kids.
So I started learning.
Design. Materials. Manufacturing. Sourcing. Foot shape.
Flexibility. Durability.
There was no master plan.
Just a lot of research, stubbornness and figuring things out
as I went.
