L.Greenwalt Jewelry was founded in Portland, Oregon in 2012.
Lauren Greenwalt, originally from Colorado but a Portlander at heart, has had a life-long love affair with color and texture. An artistic child born into an artistic family, painting and drawing were always second nature to her. However, she realized one day that a three dimensional medium was a better fit. Jewelry design comes naturally as the perfect medium, in that it allows her to explore the shapes and textures that she loves.
Now, a wife and husband team, Lauren Greenwalt and Kieron Thomas, their arts include:
Lost wax casting, sculpting in wax, clay and other medias, and traditional metal smithing techniques.
All L.Greenwalt Jewelry is made by hand from start to finish in their Portland, Oregon studio.
Inspiration for LGJ can range from the clean lines of architecture to the draped fabric of an ancient marble statue, from the curious shape of a Christmas Cactus leaf to the dreams we had last night. Intuition and visual enjoyment are always the guide.
