Our Journey
2012 Kimono Clips began with a love for Japanese textiles & has grown into a full line of beautiful and comfortable hair accessories.
We understand hair clips should be beautiful, sturdy & able to hold hair securely. We pride ourselves in providing hair accessories that work for all hair types & are also handmade.
2022 In a small valley in France, we met a 5th generation family run company & introduced our FRENCH HANDMADE line of hair accessories.
2023 We introduced HANDPAINTED clips.
Design & Development
We produce exclusive new fabric designs each year. Starting from a pencil sketch we create beautiful patterns and colors designed to please a variety of tastes. Our Japanese partners produce our fabrics in a traditional family owned printing workshop. Print workshops are vanishing rapidly in Japan and buying Kimono Clips help to support these studios. Our Clip Makers are fairly paid and able to work from home. Many have built their own houses, raised families and been able to care for elderly relatives from the reliable income they earn.
Our Philosophy
We believe in partnerships that are fair to all participants as a way of life and for business.
Our business is Woman run and owned and is now multigenerational.
Village women can follow their creative spirit to produce beautiful lasting designs on our sturdy base clips.
As world travelers we know hand made products contribute to keeping cultural heritage alive.
Our Japanese partners treated us to a fun day of Kimono dress up!
Our commitment: Making a living can be joyful when we work together and help one another.
