Founded in 1976 as a subsidiary of ITO-YA Japan, Itoya Studio carries a longstanding tradition of innovation and quality in the art, office, photo, and school supplies sectors. ITO-YA Japan, established in 1904, has set a global benchmark for unique and class-leading stationery products, a legacy that Itoya Studio upholds with pride and commitment. This rich history underscores the company’s dedication to offering distinctive, high-quality art and stationery products that cater to a wide range of creative and professional needs.
Over the years, Itoya Studio has introduced several groundbreaking products to the North American market — such as the Doubleheader Calligraphy two-sided marker, the archival safe Original Art ProFolio presentation books, and the O’Glue liquid gel glue with a sponge tip applicator. This innovative spirit is evident in each product the company offers, whether under the Itoya Studio brand or through partnerships with other world-class brands.
Itoya Studio is also the exclusive North America distributor for international brands including Prat Paris, Sailor fine pens, PuniLabo, Kuretake ZIG, Penlux, Taccia, and PLUS. Headquartered in the greater Los Angeles area for nearly 50 years, the company remains committed to the tradition of innovation that began with ITO-YA Japan over a century ago.
