Brand · Home goods
Full Circle Wool began in 2013 with the start of Capella Grazing Project. Conceived and operated by Marie Hoff, Capella Grazing Project integrated heritage breed Ouessant sheep with landscapes in need of the service of grazing, such as vineyards, orchards, and private property seeking fire prevention and brush management.
Capella Grazing has since folded in with Marie's next project, sourcing wool from Climate Beneficial™ ranches (as verified by the nonprofit Fibershed) across Northern CA -- in addition to raising Ouessant sheep.
About
Best known for its signature product, Wool Dish Sponges, Full Circle Wool works to redefine and revalue a localized fiber and textile system, primarily focusing on coarser wools grown in Northern California.
Marie developed wool dish sponges in 2014, when she found herself doing the dishes one day with a typical dish sponge that had become super gross and smelly after a short time. She looked over at a wool coaster someone had given her and thought, "that could be a dish sponge." It worked, though it tightened up too small to do dishes with after a few uses. From there, Marie began experimenting with different dimensions and densities, and working with different felters in the US. After lots of R&D, we have the current wool dish sponge -- it tightens up to about the size of a regular dish sponge after initial use and then holds true, and doesn't get smelly or gross if you wash with soap and water after each time you're done using them. Users report back 6 months to a year per sponge.
