Nestled along the coast of Maine, Funky Rock Designs was born from a deep appreciation for nature’s raw beauty and a passion for craftsmanship. We create handcrafted home goods using one of the earth’s oldest materials—stone—transforming naturally tumbled beach rocks and granite into functional art. Our belief is simple: the organic beauty of the outdoors belongs in the places we live, work, and gather.
Our founder, Jeff Henderson, started Funky Rock Designs over a decade ago, inspired by years of living and working along the New England shoreline. What began as a creative outlet—turning found stones into gifts for friends and family—soon became a full-time craft. The more Jeff worked with stone, the more he recognized its unique character, rich history, and untapped potential. In 2006, Funky Rock Designs officially came to life.
Today, our small but mighty team operates out of a 3,000-square-foot workshop in Eliot, Maine, handcrafting one-of-a-kind pieces that highlight the natural elegance of stone. From lamps and vases to drink dispensers and kitchen tools, every Funky Rock product begins with a handpicked rock—selected for its shape, texture, and color, sculpted by surf and sand. We keep our process simple, using diamond drill bits, water, and time to preserve each stone’s natural form, enhancing rather than altering. Paired with natural materials like stainless steel, wood, and glass, every creation is thoughtfully designed to be both functional and enduring.
