Great meals start with great spices FinaMill began when an inventor had a spark of inspiration, an artist with an abundance of creativity got passionate and the two shared a love of food and the way it brings people together. (Oh, and those two also happen to be married—A perfect recipe for a flavorful adventure.) The inventor is Alex and he knows more than a thing or two about pepper mills. You could even say that he taught pepper the ropes. In a past life, he designed and produced millions of disposable grinders for spice companies but grew frustrated by how difficult it was for cooks to experience fresh spice flavors beyond the everyday salt-and-pepper routine. The artist is Sophia and, in her words, “Those who eat together, stay together”. She’s all about gathering around great food, connecting with family and friends, and chasing those bigger flavor moments that come only from using freshly ground spices. After many conversations over dinner (and maybe a glass of wine), Alex and Sophia took their notes and concepts and decided it was (Thyme) literally, to take their idea further and bring something truly revolutionary to the spice grinding game! The end goal: Make a great looking spice mill that gave people an opportunity to discover the experience of using fresh whole spices and so much more! One mill, that could single-handedly offer the ability to swap spice pods and be used to discover a whole world of flavors. Each pod designed perfectly for different types of spices, dried herbs and other flavor ingredients. And now, after 10 years of research, 35 patents, and many many rounds of testing and design adjustments, the perfect spice grinder we had for so long nurtured in our minds went from passion project to the FinaMill you see today! We’re thrilled to share our love for discovering the rich, flavorful world of freshly ground spices, dried herbs, and so much more with you.
