Dock 6 Pottery
Minneapolis, MNBrand · Ceramics
Dock 6 began with four potters, one shared studio, and a belief that creativity is better when people make room for it together.
More than 30 years later, that same belief shapes every piece we make and every experience we create.
It All Started At Loading Dock No. 6
In 1995, four potters came together to share studio space, equipment, and expenses. The only entrance to their original workspace was through loading dock number six—so when the group needed a name, Dock 6 Pottery felt like the natural choice.
The studio has moved several times since then, and the original potters have followed different paths. But the name—and the collaborative spirit behind it—has remained.
The Dock 6 Culture
From Four Potters to a Creative Community
Today, Dock 6 is home to a 9,000-square-foot production studio and a team of 30-40 people. We make our pottery by hand in Minnesota and sell it through more than 1,000 retailers nationwide.
But Dock 6 has always been about more than the number of pieces we make.
It is a place where skilled potters work alongside musicians, actors, photographers, jewelers, fashion designers, glassblowers, painters, and graphic designers. Each person brings a different perspective to the studio, and their collective creativity makes our pottery—and our community—stronger.
Creativity Belongs to Everyone
Our commitment extends beyond the pottery we produce. You can see it in how Kerry and the Dock 6 team support one another, the opportunities we create for working artists, and the welcoming space we offer anyone who wants to work with clay.
Whether you purchase a handmade pot, take your first pottery class, paint a piece of your own, or become part of our studio community, you’re joining a story that has always been built around making—and making together.
