Bumbleberry Farms

Pittsburgh, PABrand · Food and drink

It's a rare, treasured thing when we find ourselves awakening from a dream that quite literally changes the course of our lives. Yet, that's exactly what happened one Spring morning in 2011 when the idea for Bumbleberry Farms came into focus for our founder, Karen Sandusky Mosholder. She’d just completed a beekeeping workshop and had set up a couple of hives in her backyard when she found herself falling in love with the craft and the small but mighty honeybees. "Could I make a living doing this?" she wondered. Bumbleberry Farms was born of those hives and in Karen’s country kitchen, where she first concocted the company’s award-winning honey cream spreads—inspired by a family recipe—just 18 jars at a time. Over the years, those spreads, and the honey that Karen harvested and sourced, found their way into your hands at hundreds of fairs and festivals around the country. You tried them and brought them to the tables of your family and friends. You gifted them to loved ones each holiday. You shared them at your weddings. You told us they reminded you of your childhood.
