Hi there!
I’m Vanessa — the founder, maker, and mama behind A Branch & Cord, your go-to shop for handcrafted macrame decor, accessories, and DIY kits.
Originally from beautiful downtown Burbank, California, I moved to the Portland, Oregon area in my mid-20s and quickly fell in love with the Pacific Northwest. In March 2020, while pregnant with our third child, I picked up macrame as a creative outlet. What started as a hobby turned into a passion, and soon after, A Branch & Cord was born.
Five years later, our handcrafted macrame wall hangings, rainbows, and DIY macrame kits have been featured in over 700 retail shops worldwide. Our small-but-mighty team brings bold color, thoughtful texture, and joyful design to every piece we make.
At A Branch & Cord, we love showing up for our local maker community. We regularly attend pop-up markets and lead macrame rainbow workshops for all ages. We’re always open to collaborations with fellow artists, retailers, and small business owners — whether it’s giveaways, in-person events, or social media support. Got a custom macrame idea in mind? Just reach out — we love trying new things!
As a business, we’re also proud to give back. A portion of the proceeds from our Pride-inspired rainbow pieces supports The Trevor Project and LGBTQ+ youth.
If you love macrame wall art, accessories, or want to learn how to make your own pieces, join our mailing list for updates, exclusive offers, and early access to new releases!
